Vision and Mission

When master painter Thomas Waterman Wood founded the museum for the citizens of Montpelier in 1895, he had a vision of an institution that would bring the transformative power of art to the people. We continue his work today.

A world where art is supported, abundant, and accessible to all.

To preserve and exhibit exceptional historic and contemporary art; offer life-affirming arts education to all ages; and collaborate within the community to ensure art is available to everyone.
