Submit up to 3 titled images in any medium, (painting, drawing, photography, fiber art, collage, mixed media, sculpture etc.) created in the last five years. $25 for submitting three pieces of art. $10 for each additional submission. Check or money order made out to T. W. Wood Gallery. Mail to 46 Barre St Montpelier, VT 05602. For credit card charges include your name as on the card, type of card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover) address including zip code where credit card bills are sent, expiration date (mmyy), three digit security code and e-mail address. Submission Deadline: Sunday May 19, 2019 E-mail submissions, send jpg files to: email@example.com Limit file sizes to 3 MB total. Include show title on subject line. Note in the email a list of all images submitted, the medium, size and retail price. (The Gallery charges a 40 % commission fee). Include a short bio (100 words) and artist statement plus your contact information name, address, e-mail and phone. Notification Date: Wednesday June 5, 2019. Installation: Saturday June 29, 2019 (Drop off work the week of June 24, 2019 Exhibition Dates: July 2-August 30, 2019 Opening Reception: July 11, 5:00-7:00 pm Submission Guidelines: If chosen to exhibit, artists are responsible for delivery of all work to the Gallery and picking up work. Artwork can be hand delivered or shipped via UPS or Fed-ex. If shipping please include a pre-paid return shipping label. All artwork accepted must be available for sale. The Wood Gallery will receive a 40% commission on all sales. All reasonable care and precaution will be taken in the handling, storing and installation of works submitted for this exhibit. The Gallery cannot be held liable for any damage to artwork. Participation in the entry process constitutes an understanding and acceptance of the conditions. Jurors: Hasso Ewing Hasso Ewing recently has been working in a 'swimmers world', installations about her childhood memories. Ewing, a local sculptor, uses clay and plaster to understand the human form and how we reveal our stories through our bodies. Theo Kennedy Theo Kennedy graduated from Middlebury College with honors in Art History, and thereafter received graduate degrees in law and public health from Boston University. He worked for the State of Vermont for 12 years and is now in a small private law practice in Montpelier. He is currently on the boards of the TW Wood Gallery and the Center for Arts and Learning. Theo lives in Middlesex with his wife and children. A.S. McGuffin Burlington-based oil painter A.S. McGuffin was encouraged to go to art school but instead worked as a Writer, a Mediator, a Homeless Shelter Director in NYC and a Graphic Designer before a local art collector and curator saw McGuffin’s first attempts at oil painting and said, ‘You should quit your job and paint.’ So, McGuffin did. Solo or Two Person Shows
The T.W. Wood Gallery welcomes artists to present solo and two person exhibitions in the Contemporary Art Room. In the case of a shared show each artist must submit their individual information. Exhibits are set in the fall of each year by the Gallery’s Visual Arts Committee based on availability and at the Committee's decision-making process.
