Join us for After School Arts!

Small Group After School Arts (ASA) Program at the Gallery!

Monday - Friday 1:00 - 5:30pm
Ages 7 - 12
2, 3, 4, 5 day options!

Partial Scholarships are available for financial need.

Young artists explore their creativity in the arts with a blend of instruction, materials, exploration, collaborative games, and outside play. Students can learn cartooning, invent assemblage art, dip into paint, create masks, produce an abstract masterpiece, make clay creatures, and so much more!

We are excited to offer a safe, healthy, and fun experience, while adapting our regular programming to offering small group after school art programs! Whether your family is in need of after school care, private art lessons, or you are looking to enrich a homeschooling experience, we are here to help guide your child's artistic aspirations!
Our program will follow state mandates and local guidelines for COVID-19. Each group is limited to less than 10 individuals (including the instructor) and is formed as much as possible with other children who are already in your child's pod. We will collaborate with parents on a personal basis via email and the registration form (below) to construct the children's art pods.

Meet Our Teachers!

Instructor: Kevin Marlier
Kevin has always loved art. When he was in elementary school, Kevin was chosen for art classes given by one of Andy Warhol's teachers. Mr. Marlier is well known by local kids as an art teacher; first with Young Rembrandts then with Community Connections and subbing at Union Elementary. He loves inspiring students' creativity with humor and unique, adaptive lesson plans to help kids feel comfortable with their skills and to grow as artists.

Hi I’m Mikayla! I have always loved art. From a young age I loved any activity that involved
creating and making stuff with my hands. As I got older I realized I needed to be in a creative
field to truly be happy. I received my BFA degree at Johnson State College and recently received
my MFA degree from what is now NVU-Johnson. Along with loving art I also love working
with kids. I have ten plus years of experience working with kids in all different settings. There is
something so magical about seeing life through a child's eye and that is why creating art with
them is so much fun! I love to come up with fun lessons that help kids grow and learn. I believe
that art is just as much about the process as the finished product and with that in mind everyone
can be an artist as long as they have fun producing it. My greatest hope is that I can inspire kids
as much as they inspire me with their spectacular imaginations.

Instructor: Monica DiGiovanni

One summer, about 20 years ago, a friend suggested that I might enjoy doing art with kids. The timing was right and I applied to co-teach a summer arts program in Cambridge, MA where I was living. I didn’t realize that job could be so rewarding and so much fun. There is a special gift in helping to nurture a person’s creativity, regardless of age, so that they may blossom in response to acts of self expression.

Since then I’ve taught art to people of all ages and abilities - one-on-one, within school systems, and through special programs of my own design. I believe without a doubt that every single person comes into the world with a deep well of self-expression and know that there is always a way to tap into and nurture that source.
